This new three-story office building is the corporate company headquarters for a local development firm. RVK’s design utilizes concrete tilt-up wall and steel framing, and expansive windows providing an abundance of natural light. An all-glass curtainwall elevator faces the main highway to the north acting as a wayfinding beacon element with the company logo and color changing LED lighting.
The distinctive lobby features a varied depth, strikingly high ceiling accented with dramatic cove and continuous recessed linear lighting. The custom reception desk is surrounded by expansive large format ceramic floor and a bold symbolic accent wall with recessed accent lighting, and a monumental wood floating staircase with a stainless-steel rod railing system. A custom wood portal element at the top of the stairs serves as a warming welcome into the second-floor open office area of the Lynd operations.
The first floor provides for tenant lease space, as well as a museum space dedicated to veterans of the Vietnam War. The second and third floors are occupied by the Lynd Company, providing much needed space for their rapidly expanding business operations. The open office has a variety of collaborative seating arrangements, an exposed steel structure ceiling, and floating acoustical ceiling clouds. The third-floor classroom provides indoor space for company luncheons and events held for veteran groups and opens out to a terrace for after-hour events while offering views to the surrounding Hill Country. The white ceramic floor and wood plank ceiling of the terrace adds a sophisticated feel to the space.
The building is unique to its kind since it is a private company engaging the public with its museum. The museum serves to pay tribute to local veterans in hopes of engaging the community and leaving a positive impact on its visitors.
