Within the Ecumenical Center’s campus, this garden is primarily a quiet, contemplative, meditative and prayerful place where clients and staff can walk or sit in a natural setting surrounded by native plants, birds and butterflies. The peaceful sounds of splashing water and the shade cast by Live Oaks and Cedar Elms create a healing and therapeutic place where the stresses of daily life are diminished. Faux bois benches adjoin the walking path and add an organic feel to the garden. A labyrinth aids those needing to organize and direct their thoughts. The garden is a contained space and a confidential place where everyone can feel safe and heal.
