A PLACE

OF OUR OWN

RVK relocates its office to N. Saint Mary’s St.

August 4, 2021

Last summer, the Mirano Building sat vacant along the bustling St. Mary’s strip. This summer, the newly renovated building is home to RVK Architecture’s new office.

The firm moved in on July 19 after spending nearly 30 years at Trinity Plaza II, which we designed in 1985. The move coincides with our 50th anniversary.

“Though we were sad to leave a place we called home for nearly three decades, we’re excited to have a space of our own,” says President Judy Zimmerman. “Ultimately, it’s our people – not a building – that make RVK great.”

RVK worked with Valcor Commercial Real Estate to find the right size, fit, and style for our new office. We partnered with Drash Contracting Company to complete interior/exterior upgrades and landscape architecture services at the site, which housed GW Mitchell Construction’s office until 2017.

Our design retains elements of the building’s original architecture, such as the D’Hanis Clay Breeze Block and exterior Custom Iron Works. The two-story, 11,000-square-foot building’s interiors are a 2021 reinterpretation of midcentury modern style. From the inviting reception area, engaging work café, and diverse types of workspaces to ample natural light, seamlessly integrated finishes, and exposed ceilings, our goal was to design a comfortable, inspiring, and uplifting space that is inclusive of all work styles and enhances the well-being of our employees and clients.

The office isn’t ready for the spotlight yet, but we’re planning an open house/50th anniversary celebration this fall. Expect a tour of our new space, food, beverages, and networking.

For now, we’re excited to meet our new neighbors and continue our legacy of delivering successful architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture projects to public and private clients.
